Lesley has had a passion for photography since her first Kodak Instamatic camera was given to her as a child. When her first child was imminent her husband decided it was time to upgrade to an SLR camera and bought her an Olympus OM2 when they were living in the Philippines. There was much opportunity to photograph things other than the new baby and a love of photographing exotic plants, orchids and hibiscus (which seemed exotic to an English rose), was born while waiting for the arrival of Lisa! |
| When the children started school Lesley became a children’s photographer and ran a Sydney based Company in Brisbane for 5 years before deciding that having her own lab. was the logical progression. |
She was often commended for the attention and care given to each individual negative (as they were always then!) ensuring that the lab. produced the best possible result for each and every customer based, not only on her own knowledge and expertise but also on the realisation that everyone sees colour slightly differently. The lab. was always happy to reprint with colour corrections to satisfy even the most quirky customer. |
The birth 25 years on of Lesley’s first grandchild prompted her to purchase her first digital camera – and what a joy she has found it. A most reluctant user of the latest technological wonder, she is now an absolute convert and loves the ease and relative economy of the digital era and is also terribly grateful she had the foresight to sell her Mini-lab when she did – at the dawn of the new millennium!! |
The wonder of nature is something that makes every day special to Lesley and if she can bring some pleasure, possibly even joy, to anyone, especially those not fortunate enough to live in Australia (!), and experience the beautiful flora and fauna in this magnificent country, then that is an absolute bonus. |
